Phone Interview!

Ok I'm finally posting about what happened with my phone interview! Sorry it's late!

So my phone interview was schedule for Friday 1/21 at 9:45am. I was sitting in my room going over my notes, which I taped onto the wall so they wouldn't make noise, waiting for my interviewer to call. Here's a picture of my intense notes :)

Anyways I'm watching my cell phone turn from 9:45am to 9:48 to 9:50 and I start freaking out. My interviewer didn't call until 9:55 and apologized for being late. She asked if we could reschedule because she was having computer issues so I rescheduled for the next day, Saturday 1/22 at 10am. I was pretty bummed since everyone else got to do their interviews that day without any issues and I was so anxious to get it done with!

So I did it Saturday and I felt like it went really well! The interviewer was really nice she asked me Why I wanted to do the CP, about my past jobs, and then we went over the roles I wanted and why and what kind of experience I had. It was a pretty easy interview, no trick questions! :) The one different question I got from the ones I had prepared was "Tell me about a time where you had to multitask while using a computerized system (like a cash register)" which was easy to answer since I worked in a coffee shop as a cashier and had to get food and pastries and stock at the same time. Everything else were questions I had heard before and questions everyone else had probably heard before!

So now I'm just waiting to see what happens. She told me I'll be hearing back anywhere between 3-6 weeks but I'm hoping to hear back sooner since I applied on the first day and interviewed on the 3rd day! lol I really hope I get in! This has been my dream since I was 14!!!! Good luck everyone else applying, especially to my D-Fam!! :)

Passed the WBI!!!

For anyone who doesn't know WBI=Web Based Interview. This is the portion of the application most people are nervous about where they ask you personality type questions. If you pass that portion you go onto the phone interview. So I applied yesterday and passed!!! :) I scheduled my phone interview for 9:45am tomorrow morning (Friday)!! I'm sooo excited and I'm basically spending the rest of today planning for it. I know I'll do fine as long as I don't get too nervous and let my love for Disney shine through!! :) I haven't heard of anyone from the Dfam on facebook not getting past the wbi so good luck everyone on your phone interviews!!!

I'll post again tomorrow to let everyone know how it went!

Interview Prep

Since people are scheduling their phone interviews (congrats to those who passed the web interview! I still have to do it!), here's a list of interview questions I found on the disboards that people said they've been asked before. I hope it helps!

General Questions:

What Disney character is most like you?

Who is your favorite Disney Character and why?

3 words you/your manager/your coworkers would use to describe yourself?

Why do you want to work at WDW Resort?

What are your top 3-4 role choices?

Why do you want to do the CP at this point in your life?

How would you interact with guests/provide good guest service?

What would you look for in a CP applicant?

Describe a situation where you’ve had to work with a difficult person, boss or professor.

How open are you to people from diverse backgrounds?

Why should you be in the CP?

What is your favorite job you've ever had (including volunteer work, etc) and why?

What challenges do you think might arise from living with people of diverse cultural backgrounds?

BBB Hostess:

We like people to have hair experience, actually kind of require it, but mostly we want people who like interacting with kids. Do you enjoy being around them?

What kind of experience do you have doing hair and makeup?

What would you do if a child was scared and didn't want to have her hair done?

As you know, in salons it can get kind of crazy and crowded. It's very high paced and people waiting get sometimes frustrated. What would you do to welcome guests and spread some magic?

Attractions:

In terms of a spiel ride -talk about a situation in which you have talked in front of a large group of people.

How do you feel about talking in front of a large audience and possibly on a microphone?

If you were doing a task that was repetitive (spiels), how would you keep yourself interested in it?

What would you do if a child was too small to ride one of our attractions like Space Mountain?

Character Attendant:

What you would do if a child asked you why some characters do not talk?

What would you do if a guest was acting inappropriately towards a character?

What would you do to handle guests if you had to close a line?

How would you help a guest find a specific character?

Full Service Food and Beverage:

What would you do if a party requested a specific table/location/ect?

What would you tell a guest who didn't have a reservation, that the restaurant was full?

Most Embarassing Moment

So I was tagged by Katelyn to share my most embarrassing moment so here it is.

When I was in middle school I was notoriously late for the bus. I live at the top of a cul de sac and the bus wouldn't drive up it at the time and just stopped by the street so my mom would have to drive me down. When I was late my mom would speed me down. So the bus was pulling up as my mom was speeding down the road. We got close to the end of the road and she started slowing down so I decided to open my door and get ready to get out. Well....my mom kept rolling a little longer than normal and my foot hit the ground too soon. Fortunately I had my violin case that hit the ground and my mom wasn't going fast enough for me to fall but I had to yell at her to stop the car. The entire bus saw what happened and as I got on the bus my busdriver said, "You have to wait for the car to stop before you get out." -_- So yeah that's my embarrassing story! lol
